Writers on Hollywood’s blacklist of great scripts are ready to turn the best-selling toy into a blockbuster movie.
With the hot car movies, from the final entry into the Fast and Furious franchise, x fastto Sony’s upcoming Gran Turismo movie, an IP-hungry Hollywood is looking for franchises to boost and the long-standing line of toy cars. hot wheels just found its writers for the Bad Robot and Warner co-production.
Deadline has just revealed that Dalton Leeb and Nicholas Jacobson-Larson, a pair of Blacklisters, Hollywood’s not-so-secret “hot or not” list for up-and-coming scripts, are set to write the ultimate racing action game. Mattel’s lineup to hit theaters.
The writers of the upcoming racing show, Leeb and Jacobson-Larson, sold their first script, Endurance to Netflix in a huge multi-studio bidding war that saw the pair get a huge payday. Endurance is a sci-fi action movie about the first robots who start terraforming Mars to pit humanity against each other in the harsh desert landscape. They are also ready to write The fall for Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, an alien invasion thriller about a divorced couple trying to return to their Atlanta suburb during an invasion (shades of war of words shine through). His blacklist script was called Strong mana film about the making of Star Wars from the point of view of Darth Vader suit actor David Prowse.
Hot Wheels makes sense as a property that Hollywood holds on to, as it’s the best-selling toy in the world with over 8 billion and counting the little bits of die-cast metal sold, all based on one guy’s idea. named Elliot Handler who did the first ones in the 1960s. That’s a lot of kids and adults (who, after all, are the ones in the market for all the high-end collaborations) ready to see a show of action racing you’ll have plenty of competition around the action racing movie track, even if the Hot Wheels track is orange and features loop-the-loops.
