Puma has collaborated with Porsche Design to create the 3D Mtrx sneaker, which features a 3D-printed midsole. The joint launch marks the first time that both brands have used 3D printing technology to design a sneaker midsole.
The printed part is designed to conserve up to 83% of the user’s vertical energy, offering better performance and durability compared to foam midsoles. The midsole is inspired by Porsche, modeled after the car manufacturer’s logo, and is created with a high-end elastic material.
It is the most recent collaboration for both brands, following Puma’s partnerships with June Ambrose and Palomo Spain, and Porsche’s multi-year partnership with FaZe Clan and the eyewear collection with Patrick Dempsey.
The sneaker is available at Porsche Design stores, its website, and the Puma website, and can be yours for the tune of $430 USD.
