Can crusher artist creates shape-shifting ‘switchpen’
noah deledda, the artist who dents and scratches aluminum cans to create unique sculptures, you have now designed an intricate feather that changes shape. At first glance, the ‘switchpen’ looks like any other pen with a metal body and a plastic cap. however, a small button on its side allows users to change its appearance entirely, revealing a striking design with a geometric, crushed-tin aesthetic.

transformed at a flick of a switch
having worked on numerous crushed can sculptures, noah deledda used his knowledge and experience to create the ‘switchpen’ collection. The retractable ballpoint pen adopts a sleek appearance with a shape-shifting aluminum body. A small switch makes the pen seamlessly transform between solid and squashed, changing its entire look.
a pen costs $8, while the pack of 5 costs $38 and the pack of 10 costs $72. you can buy your own ‘switchpen’ at crushmetric, here. crushmetric is a design/production platform co-founded by noah deledda (see more here) as a functional extension of his sculptural works.
